If you have a Hill Walk, Climb, Cycle or Other Activity you would like included then why don't you plan it! Don't be frightened to do so, cos we’ll be delighted to help.  Just ask for assistance.  To include an event on this page please enter the details in the members area or email Irene Cahill with all the necessary details.

If your on our potential members list and need more information then please contact one of the committee via the contacts page.

Many of our members go out informally on a regular basis in small groups/car loads depending on weather conditions etc. with too short a notice to add to this events page. Therefore all members and potential members are advised to attend our club nights as often as they can to find out what's going on and do some networking!

For full contact details and route maps for each event please use the members area.

Please review the club Participation Statement for details on safety and responsibility on club events.

Facebook Event Page
As we are limited to travelling within Ayrshire we are going to do a circuit of the hills around Afton Reservoir. Route flexible but something like Craigbraneoch Hill Cannock Hill Blacklorg Hill Meikledodd Hill Alwhat Source of the Afton - Alhang Wedder Hill. Approx 15km/750m ascent over mostly rough moorland with a final descent on windfarm tracks and should take around 6-7 hours.

8.30am start near the water works (see car park closed but there is space next to water works for a small number of cars. As you drive through New Cumnock at the roundabout near the primary school take B741 exit (signposted for Dalmellington) then take first left. Drive along this for approx. 5 miles where the water works are on your right. Note earlier start time than previously discussed so we can hopefully get parked ok.

In line with Mountaineering Scotland Covid guidelines we will be taking contact details to meet the requirements of the NHS Test and Protect process.

As ever please note the club does not provide walk leaders everyone is responsible for their own safety on the hills as well as having appropriate clothing/footwear/food and drink for a full day on the hills. Having said that this route should be suitable for anyone with a good level of fitness and some hillwalking experience.
