If you have a Hill Walk, Climb, Cycle or Other Activity you would like included then why don't you plan it! Don't be frightened to do so, cos we’ll be delighted to help.  Just ask for assistance.  To include an event on this page please enter the details in the members area or email Irene Cahill with all the necessary details.

If your on our potential members list and need more information then please contact one of the committee via the contacts page.

Many of our members go out informally on a regular basis in small groups/car loads depending on weather conditions etc. with too short a notice to add to this events page. Therefore all members and potential members are advised to attend our club nights as often as they can to find out what's going on and do some networking!

For full contact details and route maps for each event please use the members area.

Please review the club Participation Statement for details on safety and responsibility on club events.

June 2019
Saturday 1/6/2019 Day walk Lochranza to Brodick Via The Tops
Facebook Event Page
Back by popular demand Craggy's annual traverse of north Arran from Lochranza to Brodick.

Distance 21km
Time 9 to 10hrs
Ascent 1600m

SUBJECT TO WEATHER! Catch 0700 ferry then bus to Lochranza arriving 0843. Route is from the Distillery up Gleann Easan on to Caisteal Abhail, Cir Mhor, round the back of A'Chir and on to Beinn Tarsuinn and Beinn Nuis (or Beinn a'Chlaibhain).

Ascent is more than Ben Nevis so a good level of hill fitness required! There is an escape route after Cir Mhor down to Glen Rosa which reduces the amount of ascent but it only knocks a couple of km off so still a very committing walk which will take around 9 to 10 hours. Return on 1920 ferry.

For those who are not able to go to the Rum weekend. I'm joining my lovely Munro baggers from South of the border. It's bit rocky and there are sections of steep scree and with a spot of scrambling. 11km which should take approximately (7-9 hours)

I may be travelling up the evening before but the finer details to be posted closer to the time.
August 2019
Saturday 10/8/2019 Weekend Kintail Weekend (incl. South Glenshiel Ridge)
Facebook Event Page
Walk details will be confirmed nearer the time, but the current plan is to do an easier walk in the Kintail area on Saturday 10th August and then do the South Glenshiel Ridge on Sunday 11th August.
A possibility for Saturday is A' Chralaig and Mullach Fraoch-choire (estimated time 6 to 8 hours), starting at approx. 9.30am:
https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/kintail/Achralaig.shtml
And then the South Glenshiel ridge on Sunday (estimated time 9 to 11 hours), starting at approx. 7.30am:
https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/kintail/Glenshielridge.shtml
Everyone is welcome to come along for either one or both days, but please note that the second day does require a good level of fitness.
If interested, then please book your own accommodation. A few of us are going to travel partway on the Friday night and stay at the Glencoe youth hostel (Glen Nevis hostel would be handier but only has private rooms available for that night). And then stay at the Ratagan youth hostel on the Saturday/Sunday nights. Other accommodation options are available, and the links in Walk Highlands are a good starting point.
We can also make car sharing arrangements nearer the time, with the limitation that we will need cars at both ends of the ridge walk on the Sunday.
