Monday event has been added or changed in last 30 days 11/12/2017 Club night Red Squirrel Pub, Stevenston (next to Kilwinning Fire Station)
Facebook Event Page

Wednesday 27/12/2017 Day walk Corrour to Rannoch
Facebook Event Page
Annual Festive Walk.

Catch 0938 train from Arrochar station to Corrour. Arrive 1121. Walk to Rannoch either via the Munro Carn Dearg (https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=23271 - note: this description is in reverse direction) or a more straightforward low(ish) level walk (http://www.walkscotland.com/walk5.htm).

Both routes are around 18km but you start at 400m so not too bad even if doing the Munro. However this means the "lower" flatter route is still quite high and in very remote country so you do need a reasonable level of fitness to make sure you get to Rannoch in time for the train back!

Munro route will take around 6-7 hours. Lower level walk should take around 5-6 hours.

There are no facilities at Rannoch Station other than a waiting room so please bring enough food/ldrink for the whole day!

Advance single fares are 7.40 each way if booked in advance (limited availability) or off peak return 19.50.

Please note this walk will be weather dependent - hopefully we will have snow...but not too much to stop the train! Will confirm around a week before.
