If you have a Hill Walk, Climb, Cycle or Other Activity you would like included then why don't you plan it! Don't be frightened to do so, cos we’ll be delighted to help.  Just ask for assistance.  To include an event on this page please enter the details in the members area or email Irene Cahill with all the necessary details.

If your on our potential members list and need more information then please contact one of the committee via the contacts page.

Many of our members go out informally on a regular basis in small groups/car loads depending on weather conditions etc. with too short a notice to add to this events page. Therefore all members and potential members are advised to attend our club nights as often as they can to find out what's going on and do some networking!

For full contact details and route maps for each event please use the members area.

Please review the club Participation Statement for details on safety and responsibility on club events.

Subject to weather forecast

As everyone no doubt knows travel restrictions are lifted from Friday allowing everyone to travel anywhere in Scotland. Despite the temptation to travel further afield I suspect the popular hills around Arrochar/Lomond National Park and even Galloway etc and associated car parks will be mobbed. So in the hope that limited numbers on the ferry and the fact that non-hillwalking day trippers might be put off by the fact pubs/cafes etc are still closed we’re planning yet another trip to Arran.

Route(s) to be decided on the day but provisionally Elaina and I are going to do the the Creag Ghlas Laggan ridge north west of Sannox (high point 444m) finishing in Lochranza. Approx 12km/500m ascent over a broad but pathless ridge. Will catch 0700 ferry then 0800 bus from Brodick to Sannox. Bus back from Lochranza is at 1525 so we have 7 hours to complete the route. Return on the last 1640 ferry.

If anyone else has other routes in mind please do suggest them.

As ever all welcome subject to usual proviso about the club not providing leaders for walks and meeting Mountaineering Scotland Covid Track & Trace guidance for club walks (ie maximum of 15 per walk and contact details must be provided on the day).

Strongly advised that ferry tickets are booked in advance.

Another attempt to arrange a post-Covid club weekend! Accommodation available in rooms, cabins and camping at the MacDonald Hotel (https://www.macdonaldhotel.co.uk/). Bear in mind that it is likely to be busy so the sooner you book the better. Bookings can be made with no up front payment and free cancellation up to 3 days before arrival so risk free in case of Covid restrictions being in place.

There is also other accommodation in the village eg Blackwater Hostel and various B&Bs.

Wide range of walking straight from the village and Nevis/Glencoe hills not too far a drive away.
