Report on Beinn a Chroin
15 April 2012

Today's Craggys - Robin, Irene, Maureen, Gillian and Gail

Beinn a'Chroin was a Munro that was on my radar for a long time as I kept missing it out. Today looked a good day to tackle it and hopefull if there was enought time take in An Caisteal too.

We parked on the A82 at Glen Falloch and headed up the valley beside the River Larig. At times the track disappeared so we picked our way trying to miss the boggy ground. The visability looked good today with the mountain tops covered in a dusting of snow. Once we reached the snow level we made good progress to the first cairn of Beinn a'Chroin. As we were unsure which cairn was the summit, we knew we had to visit them all just to be on the safe side.

We headed over to An Caisteal and as we began to climb there were a few flurries of snow but thankfully it quickly stopped.

This was one of the best days walking over the winter months. It was perfect conditions and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Lets hope for more days like that.
