Friday 4-6-10
Having arrived at Corrour by train on the Friday, Malcolm, Gavin and my good self headed off on our epic journey. As we passed the Youth Hostel we stashed our booze for the Sunday Night, we went up past Peter's Rock and our first camp was at 2500 ft.
Saturday.
We arose to a lovely morning and made breakfast early then broke camp and headed up to the top of Carn Dearg and topped out at 9-30 am. From there we headed to Sgor Gaibhre and then on to Sgor Choinnich. After lunch we then set off to camp at the river via Meal a Bhealaich below Ben Alder.
Sunday.
The weather was lovely so we got up early and had breakfast then set off for the top of Ben Alder. We travelled light so had a good quick climb and on the way we got to play in the snow which was still about 5 feet deep. We got to the top at 10am and were having our second breakfast when 2 gents from Englandshire appeared and seemed to be surprised to see us as they thought they were first up....Nae Chance! It was then back to camp and as we started to dismantle the tents when our first rain of the weekend began. We then started our long journey back to Loch Ossian Youth Hostel and on the way pick up our booze for that evening. It was great to get a WASH in warm water for a change and get rid of the BO.
To sum up it was a tiring journey but one I would not have missed. There were some very special moments, lots of lovely pictures and great views, I would recommend this walk to anyone.
